I’ve been quiet on here for a while now…. Something big is in the works and I cannot wait to share my next project with everyone. As a hint, I’ve signed a publishing deal with Red Penguin and I am going to be an officially published author. Not just self published anymore. The next book is going to be a Young Adult novel for middle school aged children.

Don’t worry, there will be more Marathon Torres novels also. I am currently writing her next installment, project title Luck Runs Out. This one is a stand alone title with some epic moments.

The first draft of my new series and young adult novel is complete! Non-Binary Code tells the story of a middle school aged girl that accidentally comes into contact with a government created sentient artificial intelligence. The story evolves as the AI and main character interact, disagree, and ultimately try and co-exist in their new reality.

Non-Binary Code is about identity, consent and the freedom of personal choice. I cannot wait to share this new adventure with the world!

I have been working on a new project for over a year now. The idea has morphed a few times and it’s gaining steam. Now that Marathon’s third installment has been released, it is time to take a break from that series and explore a different character and plot.

It is a YA novel set in the present. Many computer scientists are actively developing true artificial intelligence, or sentient life. Stephen Hawkins warned that artificial intelligence “could spell the end of the human race.”

This novel explores what happens when a CIA developed sentient AI interacts with a middle school aged young adult. It is built around two main themes, identity and consent. I cannot wait to share this piece of literature with you. For now, you’ll have to wait on updates. Until next time…

Copyright registration is complete. Just got the letter in the mail regarding the work being officially filed with the Copyright Office.

I have been hard at work with the final draft. Trying to fix, edit, reedit, determine word choice, edit again, and finally read the final draft to make it to publication date. It’s almost done! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

The book will go on sale, July 31st exclusively through Amazon. Amazon now has hardcovers, and they are much cheaper to produce than going through Ingramspark. Ingramspark has good quality, but they’re expensive and I don’t make a dime using them to distribute hardcover books. Through Amazon, I’ll get some money back:)

The real profit comes from ebook sales and Kindle Direct. For each ebook sold, I get about 70 percent of the purchase price. With softcover and hardcover, I get the same, but after printing costs are factored in. I try to keep the price competitive, but the margins are not profitable unless I raise prices, which I refuse to do. I am ultimately not in this for a profit. If you know me, you know why:)
